A distraction-free writing app
Retroprose fills the screen with your words. No toolbars, no adverts and no notifications: just your text, a status line and a cursor.
Full screen
Your text sits in 80 columns in the middle of the screen. Alt+= opens the menus, and they close when you are done. A status line shows the file name, the page and whether your work is saved.
Keep typing
Retroprose saves two seconds after you stop typing. Every action has a key, such as F6 for bold, so your hands stay on the keyboard. A word goal fills a small bar at the top as you write, and spell check waits until you finish a word.
Formatting
Bold, italic, headings, lists, tables and footnotes. There are no fonts or colours in your documents, no images, no comments and no pop-ups. Choose a blue, green, amber or paper screen, and one of five monospaced fonts.
